When I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 I ran into problems and still have hiccups with the program shutting itself down due to “running low on graphics” and, currently, with sounds.

I am hesitant to try another version, i.e. 10.10. What way forward do the more experienced operators recommend?

I apologize beforehand if this is not the proper place to post my question, but I’m fairly new to this site as well as to Linux. I installed Ubuntu desktop 11.04 as my OS and I am trying to install Logitech Squeezebox Server 7.5.4 for Linux, but I am having problems installing it.

At first glance it appears as if the installation went through fine, but I cannot find the application on Ubuntu. I read the Debian package on wiki and followed it to the letter but it is not working; perhaps the deb strings listed are outdated. Any help is appreciated.

    @ Jan Greeff:
I installed Kubuntu 10.10 and was having a very good time of it until I also installed Sabayon 6 in it’s own partition, at which point Kubuntu became insane and would no longer boot. In fact I could not boot my laptop AT ALL! So I uninstalled Kubuntu 10.10 and am now using Windoze Vista (when I really have to) and Sabayon 6 when I want a nice stable Linux experience. :cheerful:

I had trouble with the wireless connection at first after installing Sabayon in my laptop along with Windoze and Kubuntu. It turned out to be a simple fix: I had to remember the password for the wireless router, something we hadn’t had to deal with for many months. Once I had the right PW Sabayon was able to locate and connect to the router. Even now I often have to double-click on the wireless icon up top…my panels have to be on the top since I have some disruption at the bottom of my HP screen. Once I select the LAN I connect right away. Should be easy for you… :cheerful:
