One of the bad things about sitting behind a computer is that you can get fat and out of shape easily, especially as you age. That’s what happened to me until I discovered P90X and then later Body Beast.
Both programs are terrific if you want to get in shape at home instead of paying for a gym. Check them out if you find yourself putting on weight and getting out of shape.
If you’re pressed for time then check out the Ten Minute Trainer program. That can be very helpful for when you need shorter workouts. I particularly like the yoga video in that program, you get some great stretching in a very short period of time.
I also love Jay Robb’s Whey Protein supplement. It’s doesn’t have the crap in other brands, and it tastes really good. I drink two servings of it during each workout. I tried a bunch of other ones but they either tasted nasty or they had a lot of artificial junk in them or both.
I’m in my 40s now, so I really have to manage my weight and overall fitness. Here’s a pic of me after doing Body Beast and P90X. Not too bad for an aging geek. ;)
Good luck if you are just starting out on a fitness program. Once you work it into your routine, you’ll feel a lot better than when you were sedentary. I know I certainly did.
