I appreciate the feedback but I've covered this before. I use virtualization for a number of reasons and will continue to do so. Here's why:
1. It allows me to have multiple distros installed on one computer. As many as I have hard disk space for actually. This makes it soooooo much easier when I want to check something in one of them and generally refer back to something I looked at earlier. As long as I have hard disk space, I can hop back and forth between distros as often as I like.
2. It allows me to take screenshots of the install process for each review.
3. I actually don't have a spare machine available.
I know that that bothers some people as they don't consider virtualization to be a valid way to run distros. That's fine. The blog is there if anybody wants to read it and if they don't that's okay too.
Nobody is forced to read any of the reviews or to otherwise visit the site. I don't want that to sound mean or defensive but it really is the bottom line as I will continue to use virtualization as it is the best way to deal with constantly handling multiple distros over time.
Hope that clarifies for you, I appreciate the feedback and hope you will understand.
Note also that you are very welcome to post your own review that doesn't use distros run in virtual machines in the comments section of the review or here in the forum. That would make for a helpful contrast between the original review and your own experience with the distro.

There's not much else I can say about it. I'll continue to use VMWare, Parallels and VirtualBox for my reviews so if that bothers you then you perhaps might want to reconsider reading them. ;-)

I call them as I see them. If I run into problems, I discuss them in the review. Frankly, the more problems I encounter the easier it is to write the review as I have more to talk about.
Unfortunately, distros have gotten fairly sophisticated compared to the old days when just getting Linux installed was something of an achievement. Nowadays it is much, much easier to use Linux on the desktop.
As far as individual problems with specific hardware configuration, there is simply no way whatsoever for a reviewer to account for that. I might have one hardware configuration and you may have another. My install might go swimmingly and yours might bomb.
That is one of the reasons why there is a "Where To Get Help" section in each review. That part of the review provides helpful resources for when people encounter problems.
As far as somehow covering ALL possible hardware configuration or potential hardware problems, that's not possible and it's never going to be possible.

It's' from South Park. It's what the South Park citizens do when they are upset about something but can't think of anything to do. They wander around babbling "rabble! rabble! rabble!."

Only the old ET bunch could go from debating a Linux "hard drive vs.virtual" installation to South Park in 15 posts. (lol)

So what are trying to tell me? Is your testing methodology somehow linked to the six degrees of separation theory?
