In today's open source roundup: What would you do to improve Linux? Plus: Bodhi Linux 3.0.0 beta, and Debian 7.5 released

Linux is an amazing operating system, and it has much to offer any desktop user. But it's also not perfect and it has its share of problems and issues. If you were the King (or Queen) of open source, what would you do to improve Linux?

If I were the king of the forest, I would have everyone watch the classic original version of the Wizard of Oz. So entertaining, yet family clean with a good message in it.

Help your friends, be polite, and appreciate everything around you. Don't be a wicked witch and don't expect the wizard to do for you what you can learn yourself.

As fast as Linux goes, I would do what I do: encourage people, telling them about the usefulness of free, community based software, but allow each person to decide for themselves. Trying to convince someone of something they have no interest in makes absolutely no sense.

Friendly promoting without too much fanfare seems to work best when it comes to freedom in software.
