Thanks for asking your question at DLR! Wish I could assist.

Smitty, I am not sure that a poll is the best way to ask for help. I do see you have a similar question so hopefully someone will help you there - and probably best to limit it to the one place rather than split it with separate posts. I would think masinick might be the one to answer or help you.

I have not yet tried PearOS in any version, so I am not sure what it's capabilities and limitations are. First, I'd like to know what you like about this distribution, then I am curious whether you are asking for help or for opinions about certain features. We've not talked much, if at all, about this particular distribution here. At most, Mel may have announced a distribution release, taken mostly from DistroWatch reports, so we're "all ears" if you have something to tell us about this distribution.

If you need help, we'll have to get specific details about what you may be struggling with. In my case, I may have to try out this distribution in order to be able to give you any kind of intelligent answer.

So by all means, do tell us about this distribution, why you like it, and what you are hoping to accomplish with this poll?

Welcome to the Desktop Linux Reviews Forum; nice to have you with us!

As far as I know, none of the regular participants in this forum use Pear. Maybe one of the Guests can help you. However, since Pear OS is Ubuntu-based, maybe you should ask your question on one of the *buntu user forums. You can also try the Mint, Zorin or Bodhi user forums.

Well thanks for the reply, I am new to this type of messge board so I know I'm not doing this correctly but at least I tried.

I did already check the Ubuntu formums, nothin out there makes any scence for what I need.

But thanks again.
Smitty.

Check out the information here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OpenVPN and ask if there is anything in particular that you do not understand. The best place to get specific suggestions on this software is probably on one of the Ubuntu forums; there is likely to be more traffic there and also someone who has specifically worked with this software.

http://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/documentation/howto.html has documentation on OpenVPN.
In particular, http://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/documentation/howto.html#install directly explains how to install it, http://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/documentation/examples.html provides examples how to use it.

I cannot go into any better detail than what is already available there. Hope this helps.
